Regular Full-Time Position : Youth Services Coordinator

Location: Brainerd Workforce Center

Salary: Entry Level Grade 9
$15.40/hour to $17.81/hour

Primary Objectives of Position: This position exists to coordinate the local WIA youth programs services involving multiple school districts and partner agencies in a service delivery team context.

Required Qualifications:  Able to interact effectively with youth customers. At least one year of client service experience. English language proficient. Must work effectively in team-structured delivery system. Able to deal with people individually or in groups. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. No prior history of client abuse. Computer skills to include word processing, e-mail, internet, accessing information. Must provide own dependable transportation and be able to travel to complete job duties.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology or counseling or combination of a related degree with appropriate experience. Exceptional written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills. Group facilitation and motivational skills.

Essential Functions:
1. Implement program activities intended to carry out youth services.

2. Contact schools and work sites to facilitate coordination of services and communication about youth services.

3. Meet with participants, individually or in group to provide program information and direction.

4. Assist participants to develop individual service strategies for goal identification and attainment.

5. Acts as liaison between schools and work sites and team to resolve service related issues.

6. Maintain contact with participants to monitor participation, goal attainment and determine unmet needs.

7. Attain or exceed prescribed performance standards on a monthly basis.

8. Maintain documentation of client contacts and progress related to their individual plans.
