Full-Time Position : Resource Room Consultant

Location: Moorhead Workforce Center

Salary:   Entry Level Grade 9

$14.95/hour to $17.29/hour

Primary Objectives of Position: Promotes and facilitates the use of the Resource Room technical and informational resources for WorkForce Center customers. Provides a variety of counseling services for the purpose of assisting agency clients to plan for, secure and maintain employment. The target population to be served are dislocated workers.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services field. English language proficient. Must work effectively in team-structured delivery system. Able to deal with people individually or in groups. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. No prior history of client abuse. Computer skills to include word processing, e-mail, internet, accessing information.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree in psychology or counseling or combination of a related degree with appropriate experience. Exceptional written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills. At least one year of client service experience. Group facilitation and motivational skills.

Essential Functions:
1.  Orients customers to the concepts, services and layout of Resource Room.

2.  Assists customers to utilize technology and print resources available through the Resource Room.

3. Provides suitable coaching, reassurance and motivation to customers who are tentative about self-service.

4. Promotes available services so that customers have information necessary to make informed choices.

5. Directs customers to appropriate partner or community resources as needed by customers to meet employability development needs.

6. Maintains information systems equipment and materials so that Resource Room services are operational.

7. Collects information about customer satisfaction to facilitate continuous service improvement.

8. Plan and conduct Employment Planning Sessions for agency clients.

9. Conduct comprehensive assessment to identify barriers to employment and program service options.

10. Assist clients to develop a meaningful Employment Plan for employability.

11. Assist clients to successfully implement their individual plans for self-sufficiency.

12. Arrange for agency supportive services in program participation.

13. Attain or exceed prescribed performance standards on a monthly basis.

14. Refer clients to other agencies for services not provided by RMCEP.

15. Maintain documentation of client contacts and progress related to their individual plans.

Other Responsibilities:     Performs other work related duties as assigned.
