Full-Time Position : Dislocated Worker Job Counselor

Location: Little Falls Workforce Center

Salary:   Entry Level Grade 9

Filing Deadline: July 5, 2010
$14.95/hour to $17.29/hour

Primary Objectives of Position: Provides a variety of services for the purpose of assisting agency clients to plan for and achieve employability for the dislocated workers of Crestliner Dislocated Worker Program Grant.

Required Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social and human services, or commensurate experience. English language proficient. Must work effectively in team-structured client services delivery system.

Preferred Qualifications:  Exceptional written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills. At least one year of client service experience. Demonstrated ability to assist individuals to make career decisions, prepare for and enter employment.

Essential Functions:
1. Administers and interprets assessment tools to assist clients to identify barriers to employment and program service options.

2. Plans and conducts Career Planning for agency clients.

3. Assists clients to develop a meaningful Individual Service Strategy for employability.

4. Assist clients to successfully implement their individual plans for self-sufficiency goals.

5. Arranges for agency supportive services of program participation.

6. Refers clients to other agencies for services not provided by RMCEP.

7. Conducts follow-up visits with clients to determine progress.

8. Maintains documentation of client contact related to their individual plans.

Other Responsibilities: Performs other work related duties as assigned.
